How our jewelry is made

When you buy a piece of jewelry, it is sometimes difficult to imagine all the manufacturing steps that led to the finished product! Since I love sharing my passion for my job, let me show you what makes Pier Joaillerie jewelry unique pieces that are rooted in the present moment!

For a long time, I wondered how I could marry my two main passions, painting and jewelry. By experimenting with different techniques and finishes, and observing the reactions of people who looked at one of my "test" pieces, I realized that small wonders could be born in simplicity and letting go.

Each Pier Joaillerie piece is entirely hand-crafted, using pieces of sterling silver, without a mold or template. Based on a sketch or a momentary inspiration, I create an asymmetrical shape into which a tiny sheet of watercolor paper will be inserted, which will then be hand-painted. Different color tests allow me to choose what the final product will look like, its hues and nuances, always depending on how the watercolor and water will interact according to my brushstrokes! When I arrive at a result that I like (and sometimes several tests are necessary before I am fully satisfied with the result!), I let everything dry in preparation for the final step, which is the application of the resin. This transparent and shiny layer will ensure, once hardened, the protection of the watercolor paper to allow the daily wear of the jewel without worries! Drying time required? 72 hours! Enough to sharpen my patience... I who am always excited at the idea of introducing you to a new creation or delivering your web orders as quickly as possible!

This way of working also allows me to personalize certain pieces according to a particular request for a color or shade.
